On the advice of a friend for getting commission requests, I made an FA account. scared.... 'the 2nd'

Seriously, I'm dying for commissions. Nobody's following my Patreon, nobody has requested any commissions from here... And I'm currently jobless. Again. And my parents are breathing down my neck to get a job. Depressed
I still has monies, but since I'm actually financially independent for the most part (except for room & board) and with my expenses occurring monthly (phone bill, car insurance, student loans, credit card), my monies are draining.
I thought I had a good chance to finally get into a small independent studio up north, where I could even start out working remotely, but they haven't responded back to my follow-up emails about my art test! :nuu:

Good news is that Nickelodeon opened up their Artist Program for submissions again and Comic Con is next week, so I'm currently doodling out character designs to fill a portfolio for both as fast as I can. So I'm willing to do character design commissions of furry characters, but only SFW (G-rated) content.

Since the admins decided to take the claim of an ignoramus who thinks he's immune to criticism (it feels like they immediately took his claim as legit without actually looking into it)...

Criticism is copyright infringement now.UPDATE #4: MY WORK IS BACK! CheerleaderTHE DEADLINE TO SUE ME EXPIRED HAHAHA~ The Seriously Evil Laugh
But more importantly...I hope that also means that the strike was removed. It fucking better have been removed. :grump:

UPDATE #3: Filed a counter-request last week.
Now all I can hope for is that he's just as broke as I am and can't afford to waste both of our time and energy turning this into a ridiculous lawsuit. I think he has about less than a month to respond to my counter-request. If he lets it expire, they'll restore my work...And hopefully take off the strike.
If not...I'm building up my case to mop the courtroom floor with him. :plotting: Then we'll see if 4-5 years working in a law firm, having an attorney for a mother, 5 years of building up knowledge of copyright law, and developing critical th

...I'm moving over here. Slowly, but surely. As long as I'm sure this account doesn't have a strike either. :smoking:

Only thing that cheered me up is that I found some cases similar to mine where courts actually granted in favor of the party claiming fair use.

And in other news, I'm still open to taking Paypal commissions. :dummy:

Commissions are OPEN!I have a new job at Denny's as a hostess, but it's still not really enough to afford to move out, my bank account is still low, my credit card debt from New Zealand is starting to pile up, my student loan debt is still high, and Comic Con is 2 weeks away and I don't even really have enough spending monies. :saddummy: I can't even afford my belated birthday present! :nuu: (Which I do need because the game slot on my poor old 3DS is wearing out; it doesn't always read my games anymore.)
So I HAS STARTED COMMISSIONS AGAIN! :iconloopydanceplz:

Character Design Order Form

Cartoon Portraits Order Form

Character Design Commissions ARE OPEN! by WorldHero
Cartoon Portraits ARE OPEN! by WorldHero

Process:

  1. $5 deposit is made via Paypal. (This is to be sure that both of us are on the same page with this.)
  2. Preliminary sketches are sent to you with "PREVIEW" watermark.
  3. Secondary review of work is sent to you a week afterwords with watermark. (Feel free to contact me if I forget to send review.)
  4. A few work-in-progresses are sent with watermark. This is your last chance to request any changes. (Depends on how big the commission is. Sketches usually don't involve a lot of WIPs.)
  5. Completed work with "PREVIEW" watermark on top will be sent to you with completed invoice with total cost, and note of corrections made if needed. Watermarking the work first is a safety measure against scamming.
  6. Once I receive the full payment, you will get the completed work without the watermark.

Best thing is that all the work I do for commissions will also help my Comic Con portfolio and the portfolio for Nickelodeon's Artist Program this month! :dummy: And I will post finished/WIP commissions on my Patreon too!

And some payments will also go to help me upgrade my art software (like getting the whole Adobe CC package and getting a better tablet) to bring you more arts and maybe even better animation! :dummy:

So please, please, please hire me! I don't wanna live with my naggy parents anymore! :scared: And if you can't afford to hire me, I always accept donations too~ You can donate Points to my donation widget on my page, you can become a Patron through Patreon, or donate whatever amount to my Paypal! Every little bit helps! :meow:

Home again

3 min read
Wow, haven't done an update here since January.
But yes. I'm home now. :dummy:

...I jumped out of a plane at 12,000 ft. And took a helicopter to go hike a glacier with actual spiky boots around Easter Sunday, got to pet a cute baby kiwi birdie, saw a cute wild penguin hiding in some bushes, saw some alpacas, learned a Maori song, saw the glorious Milford Sound and watched some dolphins swim next to the boat, did some wet ATV riding, visited Hobbiton and took some selfies in front of Bilbo's house, did a LoTR movie tour and re-enacted some scenes on site, hiked 12 miles through real-life "Mordor" around 3 active volcanoes for 7 hours straight just to take a selfie in front of "Mt. Doom," saw some the landscape changes from the November quake in Kaikoura, rented a place from a nice lady for 2 months, toured Weta Workshop and bought a Smaug statue because TOLKIEN DRAGON (THEY HAD A GIANT ONE OF HIM! IT WAS SO GLORIOUS, I NEARLY CRIED! :lovely: But it was too expensive. And it would've cost a fortune just to ship it home because it was so massive. But I wanted it so much~ ), got evacuated for a tsunami precaution during the quake, saw the "Misty Mountains" being misty, rode on a car-ferry (it was like a mini-cruise ship!), did white-water rafting on Earth Day, rode a horse named "Rain" (like the DreamWorks "Spirit" movie), swung on the world's biggest swing, swam through glowworm caves, got to see Jupiter and its moons and cute cartoony Saturn through a telescope then stargazed while soaking in some hot pools...

And I've been getting better at my line-art! :iconloopydanceplz: I've been working on my character design sheets for my July's Comic Con portfolio. One of the things I remember that most of the recruiters there told me last year was to have my portfolio focus on just my story stuff. So I'm doing that. :la:

...And I bought myself a fidget-cube to prevent myself from picking at my lips, nails, and being restless because of my stupid ADD disorder that still plagues me. NO, THESE THINGS ARE NOT TO BE USED AS A TRENDY TOY. :stare:

I might start up commissions and updating my Patreon...Which is dead. With no patrons. :saddummy: And I needs monies, so I will let you know once I get an example sheet ready for commissions.

I stayed up until 6:30 am to see the very first 2017 sunrise on the entire planet! :iconexcitedlaplz:
And then I went to bed for 3 hours, covered a 2-hour shift for a flatmate, then went back to bed for 6 hours until 5:30 pm. And woke up feeling refreshed and hopeful about the new year.
...I'm just hoping I didn't screw up my sleeping-pattern doing that. scared.... 'the 2nd'

My New Year's Resolutions:
  • Complete my New Zealand bucket list.
  • Try to do monthly sketch/art dumps and try to draw every day.
  • Try not to get evacuated again from tsunami threats and try not to drown or die in any earthquakes while still abroad.
  • Go back to the States after being financially successful with employment in New Zealand, and hopefully have an animation job waiting for me when I get back.
  • Finally move out of my parents' house once I'm back.
  • Publish Book 1 (and hopefully have it be a big seller).
  • Get a better car. Preferably another Honda (because I'm not looking forward to going back to driving that shitty Kia at home).
  • Get better health insurance (if Trump doesn't fuck it up) so I can go back on my ADD meds (that are affordable) because that damn disorder is still fucking with me.
  • Pay off more of my student loans.
  • Look more into Wicca and possibly convert if I feel like it (whenever I finally move out of my parents' house).
